Activities

2020-2021 was an unprecedented year as all club meetings were virtual due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Even with the hurdles, the club adapted and tried many new activities this year. Our club had 45 members this year.

31 members participated in the ACSL National programming contest. The coaching staff diligently trained students on the topics relevant to the ACSL competitions, from binary trees to boolean algebra. Our club participated in all four ACSL competitions, and received the first place award in Washington State. Our club was ranked 11th out of 59 organizations in the United States.

Our club had 27 weekly meetings this year. Meetings focused on teaching topics relevant to competitive programming and helping students practice those topics. Some topics covered this year include graphs, runtime, recursion, and debugging. Occasionally, club meetings contained unique and fun events, such as Virtual Pumpkin Carving and multiple guest speaker sessions.

We have had a very exciting 2020-2021 school year! We hope to provide an even better experience next year.
